Our purpose
To help children and young people with care-giving responsibilities fulfil their potential and make informed choices about what they want to do. We do this in partnership with young people, their families and other agencies.
What we do
-
Supply information and advocate for young carers and others about caring roles in Suffolk.
-
Help young carers to join social clubs and organise activities so that they can have a break and some fun.
-
Allocate a personal support worker to young carers with primary caring responsibilities in Suffolk.
-
Raise awareness of young carers and their needs in the wider community.
Children and young people are always consulted and involved in the referral process, and can refer themselves to us by phone, email, or by filling in the Young Persons Referral Form.
What we offer
You can find referral forms for parents, young people and professionals, and guidelines for referring a young carer on the Suffolk Young Carers documents and forms page.
If you are a young person in a caring role and would like someone from Suffolk Young Carers to get in touch with you, contact us or print off our Enquiry Form.
