Most callers ask for information on what help is available, what their rights are, and how they can get support to take a break from their role as a carer - for more information, see the Suffolk Family Carers  Respite Helpline information (PDF, 64Kb).

Some callers just need someone to listen to them.

Either way, we hear people's stories and worries, and we try to respond in a way that gives callers something useful to take away.

A quarter of all Helpline calls come from professionals from the statutory and voluntary sectors who are working with families.

We send everyone who calls more information about us, and refer most people to a family carer support worker or to one of our Projects. By making contact with us family carers have started a relationship that will last as long as they need our help.
